Todd Newmahr, Lead Captain for Air Rutter International, has spent over a decade working as a pilot and instructor. As a student at Aviation High School, Mr. Newmahr completed 300 hours of airframe and power plant training. Todd Newmahr went on to attend courses at Farmingdale State College, completing an Associate of Science in Aerospace Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Science in 2000.
Since graduation, Todd Newmahr has worked all over the world in a variety of roles, including as an Assistant Chief Pilot, Co-Captain, and Captain. At Air Rutter International, based in New York, Mr. Newmahr spends the majority of his time on international flights in Europe, Russia, and Asia. Todd Newmahr has previously served with Vieques Air Link in Puerto Rico, Mesa Airlines in Arizona, Caribbean Sun Airlines in Florida, and Elite Aviation in California.
Todd Newmahr possesses multiple certifications and ratings as a professional pilot, including Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airline Transport Pilot accreditation, a Federal Communications Commission Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit, and an unrestricted FAA First Class Medical certificate. Mr. Newmahr has received extensive training in a variety of special airport procedures, including HazMat, CPR, first aid, and water survival.
In addition to his range of professional responsibilities as a pilot over the years, Todd Newmahr formerly served with the Guardian Angels in New York City and as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Civil Air Patrol. Committed to charitable causes, Mr. Newmahr contributes to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. During his off hours, Todd Newmahr enjoys scuba diving and mountain climbing. He also plays the guitar and participates in martial arts.
